by David Seyer
Dayton-Pride 2005 is here and AIDS Resource Center Ohio is thrilled to be participating all month long in the Dayton Pride
events.
Dayton Gay Pride will kick off on June 4 with the Gay Pride Expo and Dinner. ARC Ohio will be there with members from our prevention education team promoting safer sex practices, risk management, "prevention with positives" tips and the importance of being tested and knowing your status.
ARC Ohio will then take a trip down I-75 on June 12 to participate in Cincinnati Pride. Join Andrew Hyde, coordinator of the Mu Crew (Mpowerment) Program, as he emcees the Cincinnati Pride Rally.
Next up, on June 18, ARC Ohio's Mu Crew will roll out their Pride float in the Dayton Gay Pride Parade, entitled Safer Sex in the City.
Wrapping up Gay Pride month, ARC Ohio will participate in National HIV Testing Day on Monday, June 27 by hosting confidential/ anonymous HIV testing in five locations throughout its service area. ARC Ohio will provide the new quick 20-minute HIV saliva test-not a single drop of blood is drawndonated to us as an Ohio Department of Health HIV/STD Prevention satellite site.

ANNUAL
AIDS WALK
OCTOBER 1, 2005
For the past 15 years, thousands of Greater Clevelanders have stepped forward to fight HIV/AIDS in our community. Many strides have been made in treatment and service, but HIV/AIDS is still with us. Will you step forward for HIV/AIDS in 2005?
The Dr. John Carey Memorial AIDS Walk/Run raises critical funds to support the services of the AIDS Taskforce of Greater Cleveland, the Free Clinic of Greater Cleveland, the AGAPE Program of Antioch Baptist Church, the Lesbian/Gay Community Services Center of Cleveland, Planned Parenthood of Greater Cleveland, the Women's Center of Greater Cleveland, Hispanic UMADOP, and the Ohio AIDS Coalition.
fun together and eat lots of food.
Some members are partnered, others are single, and all like to have a good time. The group's main hangout is Argos bar in Dayton. When not there, the Gem City Bears can be found having cookouts, having dinner together, or maybe even catching a movie. Whatever the activity, Gem City Bears are all about good times and good friends.
The group loves to help out the community wherever possible. Many members are volunteering for Dayton's Pride March and Rally on June 18. The next event is a Bear-B-Q at Possum Creek Metro Park at 1 pm on Saturday, June 25. Everyone is welcome to attend, and all we ask is that you bring a dish to share and whatever beverages you would like. The bears will head to Argos for more festivities afterward.
